Artist’s Statement
Aerial art is really a type of landscape art from a different perspective. Just as in landscape painting, the artist doesn’t need to reproduce an exact image of what he or she sees but can create an image in an abstract or impressionistic manner.
The aerial digital art that I have created stems from digital photographs that I took during several flights in the last few years. I started with a camera’s image but reconstructed that image by referring to my thoughts and impressions when I originally viewed the scenes from the aircraft, including my perspective of the unusual patterns and my perception of how the color variations would evolve during the day.
